About the role
A large wholesale building materials company in Charlotte is hiring for this role. You will coordinate the month-end close, own assigned general ledger and balance sheet accounts, and oversee inventory accounting support. The role also strengthens internal controls and helps develop the accounting team.
What you'll do
- Coordinate close activities and keep them on schedule
- Manage assigned general ledger and balance sheet accounts
- Prepare financial reporting
- Oversee inventory accounting support
- Coordinate external audit requests and support tax and regulatory compliance
- Coach accounting team members, strengthen internal controls and improve processes
What you bring
- Senior-level accounting experience, including ownership of GL and balance sheet accounts
- Experience with inventory accounting
- Familiarity with external audits, tax and regulatory compliance
- Working knowledge of internal controls
- The ability to coach teammates and improve how the team works
